Favourite Recipes from Celebrities, Dignitaries & Residents of Dufferin County

On the occasion of our 25th anniversary in 2010, Yellow Briar IODE, Orangeville, have started an exciting new project and we invite you to participate with us. We are producing a cookbook of unique recipes from celebrities, dignitaries and residents of Dufferin County and surrounding areas, it's called Who's Cooking in the County. Proceeds from the sale of this cookbook will be used to continue our mission to enhance the lives in Dufferin County and area.

Have you ever brought a dish to a family function or event and everyone asks for the recipe? When you are invited to a potluck, do people request that special dish that only you can make? Now is the time to demonstrate your culinary talents. All we ask of you is that you share your favourite recipes in our cookbook.

  • Slowcooker
  • Vegetables

In addition to the above categories, we would also like to include the following if we have enough response: Kids' favourites, Homemade cleaning remedies, Entertaining advice, Punch and other Beverages recipes. Other possible categories are Family favourites, Seasonal favourites, Cultural holiday menus or just individual dishes that are traditional to your family holidays i.e. Christmas, Ramadan, Thanksgiving, etc.

Please state serving size, cooking temperature, cooking time and possibly preparation time. Helpful hints such as: can be prepared ahead of time, can it be frozen, etc, this makes a recipe that much easier to try out and follow! Even a personal comment or tip about the dish would be nice to share.

Submit a Recipe

We are asking that recipes be submitted by July 31st, 2008. We will include as many recipes and stories as we can in this community project. We wanted to make it as easy as possible to get your recipes in to us, so we have several ways you can submit your recipe:

  1. Fill in our online form here: Recipe Form
  2. Print our PDF recipe form and fill it out. This form can be faxed to 519-925-2802 OR scanned and emailed to orangevilleiode@gmail.com OR mailed to:

  3. Send your recipe to us in an email using the pdf form as a guide. Email it to orangevilleiode@gmail.com
